Prior to establishing Chao Vision Institute, Dr. Chao held numerous clinical faculty positions at University of California Irvine including Clinical Instructor, Director of Refractive Surgery at the Beckman Laser Institute, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, and Medical Director of the Gottschalk Eye Clinic.

ABOUT CVI

Established in 2005, Chao Vision Institute was the first cataract, LASIK, and corneal refractive subspeciality eye care center in Irvine, CA. What started out as a solo eye care practice fostered by personalized care and university-level expertise quickly turned into a two location group practice with patients coming from all over Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, as well as out of state and oversea to seek expert eye care.

 

In 2015 the practice added a Fullerton satellite location at the St. Jude Medical Campus. The Irvine practice location with its ensuite laser vision correction facility has been designated the Main Office. Chao Vision Institute has employed more than 50 employees over the past 15 years, each and every one of which has a passion for eyes and takes deep pride in the way we provide care.
